As I Lay I My Bed

As I lay in my bed,
And all around me there is night,
I stare into nothingness,
And hold my pillow tight.
I picture that you're in bed with me,
Your arms holding me close,
For I would not want another,
Because it's you I love the most.
But this image makes me sad,
Because it's not actually true,
And the pain hurts me from inside out,
Burning me through and through.
But I'll put up with the pain,
Because I truly do care,
For a world which does not hold you,
Is one that I truly could not bear.
